Ms. Silverman handles cases involving complex equitable distribution, child custody, parental alienation and support issues, and has appellate advocacy experience involving issues of custody, business valuations, maintenance, discovery related matters and the award of legal fees. She is currently a member of the Nassau County Bar Association as well as a member of the Matrimonial Law Committee.
Lisa J. Silverman graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with honors from Brandeis University in 1999 and received her Juris Doctor from Hofstra University School of Law. Ms. Silverman was admitted to practice law in the State of New York in December, 2002 and she was admitted to practice law in the United States District Court for the Eastern District and Southern District in 2003.
While a student at Hofstra University Law School, Ms. Silverman served as an intern for the Unites States Attorney’s Office in the Appellate Department, Washington, D.C. After graduating, she immediately began working for a prominent and well-respected law firm in various areas of law including corporate litigation, tax certiorari, appellate litigation, and all phases of matrimonial and family law. In 2004, Ms. Silverman focused her practice area exclusively in the field of matrimonial and family law and has continued in those areas ever since.
Ms. Silverman was born and raised in Dix Hills, New York where she presently resides with her husband and three sons.
